About SATA
SATA3 also called SATA6Gbps,offical name is "SATARevision3.0". It was the new standard released by the serial ATA international organization (SATA-io) in May 2009 and its tramsmition rate reaches to 6Gbps.SATA3 is compatible with the old version "SATARevision2.6 "(commonly known as SATA3Gbps now).There is no change of the port and data line.SATA3.0 interface technology standard was put forward by the Intel company ,Knut Grimsrud,Intel's storage products structure design department technical director,who in charge of it.Knut Grimsrud said,SATA3.0 transmission rate will reach 6 Gbps, will be double on the basis of the SATA2.0.
